How to block and unblock specific sessions or spaces in a room?

Modified on Mon, 24 Oct 2022 at 07:03 PM

Before we get into the details of how you can block and unblock sessions or spaces within a room, it is important to understand that Cheqdin gives you the flexibility to:

1. Block/unblock all sessions for a set time frame in a room in one go

2. Block/unblock individual sessions within a room

If you want to block/unblock per room for all sessions in the room in one go, please see the article (click the link below)

How to block/unblock all sessions for a set time frame in a room in my bookings calendar?

In this article, we are going to show you how to block/unblock specific sessions individually within a room. For ease of understanding, we will take the example of a room called 'Playgroup' which has two ad hoc sessions, namely 'Painting' and 'Dancing'. Both sessions run from 8 am to 10 am. For instance, if you wish to block the session 'Dancing' only, please follow the steps below.

Go to 'Occupancy' > 'Planner', select 'Room' and the 'Date'

Important:

Default View: The default view you will see here is for all sessions within the room you selected. If you block/unblock any spaces without selecting a specific session, then the same settings will be applied to all sessions defined within the room you selected.

To block/unblock a specific ad-hoc session:

Step 1: Select the 'Session' from the drop-down and click on 'Apply'. Click and drag on the 'places blocked' tab for the time frame that you want to block/unblock, enter the number and click 'Update'.

Once the sessions are updated, the changes will be displayed in purple-coloured cells as shown in the example below:

Here's an example of how your online bookings will look after the update:

The available spaces are automatically calculated and displayed by the system after considering the sessions you have blocked/unblocked.
