How to Create and Publish Daily Diaries via the Notebook App?

Modified on Wed, 20 Mar at 12:07 PM

To create and publish Daily Diaries via the Notebook App, you will have to log in to the app using the 'I'm a Staff' log-in option.

Before you try and create a daily diary, please make sure that the child(ren) is booked in for their session on the day. If the child(ren) has not been signed in for that day, you won’t be able to publish a report.

Here are the steps to create and publish daily diary reports from the Notebook app:

1. Create a Daily Diary Entry

Click on the 'Daily Diaries' icon on your dashboard screen.

2. Choose a record and input your details

You will be able to click on each individual tab and add details to it, which will be included in your daily report to the parent.

  • Meal – report to the parent what the child had eaten during their session. You can update the meal planner via the web portal to auto-populate this information from a drop-down box. You can also enter any details manually if you wish to do so.
  • Nap – record the times of the day the child had slept.
  • Mood record the information on the child's mood during the day.
  • Toilet – record nappy changes or change of clothes.
  • Reminder – Issue reminders to the parent, i.e., supplies required such as nappies, clothes etc.
  • Activity – record an activity the child took part in

3. View and publish reports via the Report Centre

Once you've entered the correct information for the records, you will be able to 'View' and 'Publish' the information via the 'Report Centre'.

When a report is published, the parent will receive a real-time push notification that a report has been published via the Notebook app. You (the centre) can also view the information you submitted via the Web Portal.
