NCS & ECCE - Funding Calculator, Attendance & Compliance Tracking

Modified on Fri, 15 Nov at 4:03 PM

This article provides guidance on using Cheqdin' Intelligent Funding Calculator, attendance tracking and compliance reporting features to meet the National Childcare Scheme (NCS) and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) program requirements for settings in the Republic of Ireland.

Below are the features included with Cheqdin's funding module

  • Manage and apply schemes to students easily

  • Funding Discount Calculator: Use less than 5 minutes to calculate funding and create batch invoices using Cheqdin' funding calculator and rules based invoicing engine.

  • Automatic CHICK ID (Childcare Identifier Code Key) Expiry Reminder Alerts:
    • Provider Action on ExpiryChildcare providers should monitor CHICK ID expiry dates to ensure continuity of subsidy payments. When a CHICK ID nears expiry, providers can inform families so they can renew their application promptly. Cheqdin provides alerts to both parents and the centre for all ids that will expire in the next 30 days.

  • Daily Attendance RecordingProviders must keep accurate daily attendance records, marking any absences to monitor each child’s participation in the program.

  • Weekly Compliance Report: Claimed Hours vs. Attended Hours
  • Under-Attendance Reporting :
    • Consistent Under-Attendance: If a child frequently attends fewer hours than outlined in the ECCE contract, providers must report this. Chronic under-attendance can result in funding adjustments, as ECCE aims to support consistent early education.

  • Absence Reporting : Extended Absences: If a child misses more than three consecutive weeks, it may affect the capitation payment.
  • Last 4 Weeks Attendance tracking report for children with low attendance.
  • Accessing NCS/ECCE Compliance Data
  • View logs to see parameters applied during invoice generation.

Did you know? You can select multiple funding rules under 1 invoice rule. For example if 10 Children have 25 Weeks at 2.14 EUR and Child 2 is 20 weeks at 2.34 EUR and 10 children have 30 weeks at 2.56 EUR, all these students can be part of one rule. All you need to do is to rerun this single rule every month to calculate discounts and invoices.
