What are the best ways to use Cheqdin to sign-in/out children?

Modified on Mon, 6 May at 2:55 PM

Cheqdin pulls out live registers for the day; hence if you don't see any children to sign in or sign out, make sure you have updated schedules for the children from the 'Centre settings' > 'Schedule'.

The Cheqdin app allows you to conveniently capture and record the children’s attendance using your tablet or mobile device. There are two ways you can roll out the digital sign-in/out system at your setting:

1. Kiosk Mode

This option is ideal if you prefer the parents to sign the children in and out at pick-up and drop-off. You can download the Cheqdin app on any device of your choice and place it at your reception to let the parents do the sign-in/out. Each parent can sign in/out for their children using the unique 4-digit PIN they would have received when they registered/made a booking with your centre. You can resend or change the PIN at any time.

The app's sign-ins and outs will be automatically synced into your web portal in real-time, which means you can access and monitor the live daily registers from your Centre Dashboard. You can also download the digital attendance reports in PDF or Excel formats.

In case you are wondering, parents cannot sign in or sign out children from the Cheqdin app on their personal phones. They can only do it from a tablet or device that has been logged into the centre's account by a staff member or school/centre admin.

2. Bulk Sign-In/Out

Otherwise known as group sign-in-out, this option is ideal if you'd like your staff to do the sign-in/out for the children and is a preferred option for out-of-school clubs, creches, and larger centres. You can also create custom tags if you prefer to filter out lists. For example, if you are an after-school club, you can create n tags, say, St. Xaviers, Oxford, and Benenden, if you have children attending these three different schools.
